What is SynKnot ?

SynKnot is a synchronization utility for generating DNS zones typically for domains and PTR zones for IP addresses. There is the scenario: you have a list of domain of your own and you’re storing DNS records somewhere in your database (or other kind of storage). SynKnot simplyfies your life by generating zone files from your DNS storage and put them to the configuration files of the Knot DNS server.

The same is for PTR records. You could have list of IP addresses with assigned PTR records. SynKnot will generate the zone files for your Knot DNS server.

All you have to do is follow the installation steps: https://github.com/besthostingcz/synknot/ (README.MD).

SynKnot is prepared to any kind of your DNS storage. You can create an adapter, which will return list of DNS records. The adapter can get records from a custom database structure.

You can follow more detailed how to install SynKnot.
